Vysoko-Petrovsky stauropegial monastery is situated in Moscow on the street Petrovka. Founded by the Holy Hierarch of Kyiv and all Rus Peter the first Metropolitan, and first glorified. Years established: 1315-1317. In the second half of the XVII century, Peter the monastery received the right of participation in the activities of Church Councils. However, in the Soviet period by the Decision of the Moscow city Council in 1926 the monastery was closed. Since 1991, the churches began to recover the parish life and performed divine service. 10 Oct 2009 the decision of the Patriarch and the Holy Synod at the monastery revived the monastic life.
