The beginning of the great Patriotic war in the USSR there were about 80 armored trains, 23 of which were part of the NKVD, and the other was in service with the red army. In late 1942, with the money collected by the workers of the underground, was built armoured rail stock «Moscow metro». In the composition of the 60 th armored division was immediately sent to the main part of the front at Kursk.
